About Phil Weir and Ana Svoboda
Phil
Weir believes to be successful at real estate on Roatan, one
needs to have three important qualifications: business experience,
real estate experience and knowledge of the island. Based
on his past history he has all three.
Phil graduated with a degree in business from
Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He was successful in the restaurant
and nightclub business in Dallas, Texas, having owned Whiskey
River with the country singer, Willie Nelson.
Continuing in business in Aspen, Colorado, he
received his real estate license in 1977 and sold successfully
fulltime until 1991. He is presently a licensed real estate
broker with Morris and Fyrwald in Aspen and a member of the
National Association of Realtors and the Certifies International
Property Specialist Network of the NAR.
Phil has lived in the Bay Islands for 17 years, starting out
in Cayos Cochinos in 1991 before moving to Roatan in 1993.
Phil started the Scuba School for Anthony's Key Resort and
was a PADI Course Director.
He opened Roatan Life Real Estate in 2002 and
has enjoyed great success having ranked consistently in the
top 5 in real estate sales for the past four years. Phil has
built two homes on Roatan and just recently built a new home
in Palmetto Bay Plantation. He and his wife Pati, who is from
Roatan, have a son and a daughter.
In 2008 Phil sold Roatan Life Real Estate to
his associates; Steve Hasz, Mark Havey, Mike Carter and Gene
DeMarco. With over 17 years of living on Roatan it was not
an easy decision. But with his children, Robbie and Ashley,
turning 6 and 8 respectively, their future education needs
fueled the impetus for this decision.
But this does not mean Phil is giving up doing
business here on Roatan. In an effort to continue his Real
Estate Business on Roatan through Roatan Life Real Estate
and to represent the interest of those who have entrusted
in his experiences, Phil has decided to team up with a person
who he believes will be a great asset and who is very knowledgeable
about the Real Estate Business in Roatan, that person is Ana
Svoboda. She is native of Honduras, attended school at Lincoln
University in Missouri and currently is serving as a board
member on the Roatan Realtor's Association.
Ana Svoboda
Born and raised in La Ceiba, Atlantida. Ana
studied General Accounting until winning a Fullbright Scholarship
to study Business Administration and Finance in the USA. She

and have lived in Roatan for 15 years. Ana also studied Real
Estate in Florida.

Materials, South Seas Development & Parrot Tree Plantation.
